What is kiokushinkay

Kiokushinkay, in other transcriptions of "Kyokushin kaikan", "кёкусин", "кёкусинкан", - style of full contact karate. The style in the sixties of the twentieth century is based by the Japanese-Korean master of single combats of Masutatsu Oyam. The philosophy kiokushinkay consists in self-improvement, discipline and persistent trainings.

Early biography of Masutatsu Oyam

Future founder kiokushinkay was born in the southern part of Korea during occupation of the country of Japan. Parents called it Chong Ey Ng. Being the little boy, it was sent to northeast China to relatives farmers. Here, at the age of nine years, he begins to study martial arts. The Chinese living on the farm by the name of Li became his first coach.

In 1938 fifteen-year-old Chong goes to Japan to come to aviation school of imperial army. Here he received the Japanese name of Masutatsu Oyam. It is the Japanese synonym of the name of the ancient Korean state of Choson.

Here in Japan Oyama began to study karate. Visited the dojo (school of karate) run Gigo Funakosha - the son of the founder of style shotokan (contactless style) and all modern karate of Gitin Fukamosha. Then two years trained at Gitin Fukamosha. Later, within several years was engaged at With It Chu, the pupil of the founder of style Godzyu-rue Tiyago Midzyun. The style of the godzyu-rue combines rigid and soft methods. In 1947 Masutatsu Oyama won the karate championship of Japan. However the victory didn't bring it satisfaction. After it he went to mountains where 18 months trained alone.

Oyama took the receptions capable to help with real fight, not only from other styles of karate, but also from other types of single combats. It entered into the karate arsenal also a lot of personally invented technical and policy strokes. In 1963 Masutatsu Oyama published the book "What Is the Karate?" which became the best-seller and still is considered "Bible" of this type of fight. In 1964 it founded the International federation of karate kiokushinkay. In the next years opened the set of schools worldwide where this style of karate is taught.
