At the same time the athletes who are engaged on these apparatuses began to represent the category essentially different from ordinary skiers. In many respects it occurred thanks to the fact that the sports public officially recognized the independent status of roller skis. So, in 1988 in Holland the first European championship on this sport was held, and in 1992 the International Ski Federation included driving on roller skis in the official list of ski sports. In the year, in 1993, Holland received big roller ski races competitions again: this time they had the status of world. In 2000 in the same country there took place the first World Cup in this sport, and since then it is carried out on the regular basis - every two years.
