1. The aikido is the synthesis of fighting receptions, philosophical and religious fabrications. It isn't ancient martial art, however its roots consign to the distant past. Year of foundation of aikido can be considered 1922 when O-sensey ("The great teacher") Morikhei of Uesib created the doctrine on the basis of several traditional directions, such as fighting practicians to dzyu-dzyuets and to kenjutsu. Besides, the religious trend of Oomoto had the great influence on formation of the new direction.

2. The name "aikido" comes from association of three Japanese hieroglyphs: Ouch – "harmony", Ki – "spiritual energy", To – "way". Uesib described aikido not only as art of the match, but also the way of spiritual clarification according to laws of the Universe. In other words, it is the way of the soldier which purpose – achievement of harmony.

3. The person owning aikido is called "aykidoka". The opponent (forward) in aikido - "укэ".

4. Aikido – art of hand-to-hand fighting at which aggression of the opponent is used protiums it. It means that the master of aikido during attack on it uses strength of the opponent, and itself at the same time remains in balance. Aykidoka leaves the attacker, but doesn't respond with aggression to aggression, thereby forcing the opponent to stop.

7. The system of ranks of aikido consists of student and masterful degrees. Student degree are called "кю", usually them 6, but when training children 10 can be used. Ranging kyu comes from bigger to smaller (from 6 to 1 kyu, from 10 to 1). Masterful degree are called "is given" and it is ranged from the first to bigger, all them 10 (from 1 to 10 Dan).

8. Examinations in aikido are held twice a year, and it is allowed to pass examination for 1 it is possible only in the year after receiving 1 kyu. 10 it is given it is awarded only to outstanding masters of aikido.

9. Aren't held competitions to aikido, and practices the kat. The cat is the repeated repetition of movements which allows the body to make them habitual, learns to control space and emotions.
