After the main Olympic Games on the same sporting venues the so-called Paralympic Games – the Olympic Games for disabled people are held. The Paralympic Games have the International committee, awards and ranks, only sports differ from traditional a little.
The program of the Summer Paralympic Games includes the following sports: boccia (ball game on accuracy), archery, swimming (without use of artificial limbs), the dressage, bullet shooting, goalball, rowing, weightlifting, sailing and bicycle sport. Since 2016 the athletes will also compete in rowing on kayaks. All these competitions are held by the same rules, as for healthy athletes, only for visually impaired and blind assistants are required.
With some changes the program included judo – visually impaired and blind athletes take part in it. The main difference consists in additional capture of "kumikat" with which fight begins. Prosthetists, wheelchair invalids and blind people participate in competitions on track and field athletics, the program of competitions includes throwing of various objects, trass, pentathlon, jumps and the marathon.
Also at the Paralympic Games there take place table and big tennis competitions. In general governed the same, but two rebounds of the ball are resolved. In 1960 the program included fencing, chairs of wheelchair invalids at the same time attach to the floor. Wheelchair invalids play also in basketball (basket height at the same time less than standard), in soccer with teams on 5 and on 7 people, rugby (here rules are absolutely changed). Championships on volleyball pass in sedentary and standing category, depending on it the size of court and height of the goal net are picked up. Competitions of skiers in freestyle or classical driving, in the team and individual competition enter winter sports of the Paralympic Games. Disabled people take part both on traditional skis, and on the chairs equipped with couple of skis. Wheelchair invalids compete also in ice hockey, from each team in the field is on 6 players. Players move on the carriages equipped with runners of sledge by means of sticks with iron tips. Also the program of winter Paralympic Games includes alpine skis, wheelchair curling and biathlon.
