During the presentation of the uniform in which representatives of the Olympic team of the USA had to appear in London at opening of the Summer Olympic Games it was found out that the clothes of the American athletes are made in China. Senator Harry Read revolted with this circumstance said that all this uniform should be folded in the big heap and to burn.
On July 12, 2012 the presentation of the uniform in which the national team of the USA will participate in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in London on July 27 took place. On air of NBC TV company the collection created by the American fashion designer Ralph Lauren who in 2008 and 2010 already worked on the form of the national teams of the USA participating in the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing and the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver was shown. The style of navy of the USA became the basis for suits of 2012. The men's option includes blue jackets and white trousers. In the women's uniform the trousers are replaced with the white skirt to the knee. The suit executed in colors of the American flag is complemented with the beret, the tie and the scarf.
During the presentation the journalists of ABC TV channel found on clothes the labels demonstrating to production of the uniform in China that wasn't advertized before. Having become the public domain, this fact aroused rough indignation of Congressmen of the USA. Criticism was sparked by not clothes, and the fact that the uniform made abroad was approved by National Olympic Committee of the USA. According to senator Bernard Sanders when millions of Americans have no work, there are no reasons to place the order for production of the Olympic form outside the USA. Introduction of the bill according to which the full dress of the athletes presenting to the USA at the Olympic Games can be made only by the American producers is planned.
Representatives of the National Olympic Committee which came under fire of criticism reported that to take any steps for alteration of the uniform late. The press service of the Ralph Lauren company distributed the statement according to which suits in which the American athletes will appear at opening of the 2014 Winter Olympics will be made in the USA as that is demanded by the American congressmen.
