The chief designer N.V. Nikitin developed the project of a tower for one night, having taken as a basis a lily flower with its thick stalk and petals – in fact, the tower in many respects reminds the turned flower. Initially Nikitin provided four support on which there had to be a television tower. Later, according to the recommendation of the German colleague – the designer Leonhardt – the quantity of support was increased to ten.
