But to meet in person the landscapes which are really reminding Martian, to wander among a surprising, unearthly landscape which is hardly possible here on the planet Earth, many have an opportunity today. For this purpose it is only enough to appear in the State of Arizona near border with Utah – where there are well-known rocks the Wave.
In fact, the Wave is a peculiar nature reserve which borders on other, not less remarkable parks. For example, with the glorified Grand Canyon and with not less known Zion park. However the Wave significantly differs from listed above as in this place the nature wonderfully created unusual heaps from stones of red color that makes local landscapes really extremely similar to Martian – as they are shown in scientific movies. But how similar unusual forms and for what reason there were they in this place could be formed? For the answer to this question it is necessary to address scientists.
Once a set millions years ago on this place the huge desert full of sand stretched. Wind transferred sand from one place to another, formed and altered dunes, and over time those hardened. Thus, during all this time here these massifs which attract travelers here today were also formed. Will not be exaggeration to tell that there is no second same place anywhere in the world, and even the Jordanian Wadi Rum and other desert places significantly differ from rocks the Wave.
The main highlight of the Wave is that local mountain entities here really wavy. They were formed by means of winds throughout very long time – and, the fact that their basis initially was soft, sandy is interesting, however with centuries it hardened to a present state. Played the important role and rains. The coloring of these waves blows the mind - here the widest range of shades red, orange, places yellow, and an impression is made, as if these stones were painted manually by the skillful artist. But it not so! All play of colors was created without participation of the person here, and it also is the most surprising.
Today the entrance on the territory of the Wave is controlled – the zone is announced by national park and the administration makes all efforts to keeping the territory in its initial look. The problem is that these formations – rather fragile and at careless walk separate fragments can be broken. For this reason, the entrance is limited here and per day only two dozen tourists can visit the Wave. Certainly, there is always a line of persons interested – for example, the Wave is extremely popular among photographers. Not only from various cities of the USA, but also because of the ocean the people go with photography equipment imprinting these unusual wavy formations here. The specifics of visit of this park are that the entrance ticket cannot be bought here. All tickets for every day – and as it was already told above, in day them are selected exactly twenty – are played between the registered people who showed willingness to visit the Wave. Therefore it is possible to get only will of a case here. At the same time, a half of tickets is played long before day of visit – in three or four months – and the second ten is played directly on the same day. Yes, with a similar system it is difficult to plan survey of the Wave, but the release in persons interested is not observed.
The wave looks always differently depending on time of day. Amateur photographers prefer to remove here at about noon – at this time the sun is above the head and objects do not cast a shadow. Namely thus it is possible to imprint all beauty of a local landscape most qualitatively. Unique combinations of flowers and fancy patterns serve as the excellent purposes for photographings of both fans, and professionals.
The park is divided into actually Wave – that is the main wavy massif – and a so-called Second Wave. Externally she very much resembles the first, behind only that exception that breed shades are slightly more dark here.
Besides photographings, major activity of visitors in the territory of the Wave – pedestrian tourism. There is an uncountable number of places which should be examined, and one day on full visit is obviously not enough. Similar beauty opens only here and anywhere any more in the world. Tiny canyons, small caves, grottoes, transitions, arches – all this was created without participation of the person. And for this reason all new fans of unusual places aspire here, competing in draws of entrance tickets.
Certainly, in view of fragility of wavy formations, on the territory of the Wave it is impossible to drive on motor transport. It is quite logical, even the weight of an individual person can damage some fragments – the ledges, parapets and other details created by the nature. The government of the state well understands all historical value of the Wave, and the number of visitors even for commercial reasons peculiar to Americans does not expand. If the similar unique place is damaged, second it. Will be anywhere any more today it by right is property of the state and, perhaps, all America in general.
Having by the way, arrived to these places, besides the Wave it is possible to see much interesting. As it was already noted, two other well-known parks also attract to themselves a large number of guests. But even irrespectively them the wild nature of Arizona and Utah is something unforgettable. On the one hand, here rather hot climate, and almost all the year round is present the bright sun burning stony rocks. With another – even in these conditions there is the flora and the fauna which certain representatives can be of great interest to everyone.
