Island is located near the Kerch Strait and belongs to Ukraine. Legally the status of the island is still not defined. Once it adjoined Taman Peninsula which was in possession of Russia, and then passed under management of Ukraine which claim that Tuzla is an island.
The history of this island began in 1869 when the braid belonged to the Kuban region. Then its administrative-territorial arrangement was entered into a part of the Crimean region. In 2003 Krasnodar Krai repeatedly tried to restore a braid, but they did not manage it. In 2005 the island was assigned to Ukraine. In 2003 it was recorded that on the island 40 people live. But now there is no resident population, but the city administration of the city of Kerch, did not want to create the settlement here.

Infrastructure of the island is pretty saturated as there is a fishing village, garden sites, recreation facilities. Two seas, Albatross are distinguished from them. Cooks prepare fish on the person for the recipe therefore you will be happy with taste of dishes. Not only can impress with it the island as here annually there takes place the international literary and art Ukrainian Crimean Tatar Russian-Belarusian Barricade festival on Tuzla. The main task of a competition is in showing development of cultural heritage of all countries of participants at the international level. Unfortunately, because of whole gales the southern part of the island gradually vanishes. It was for the last few years washed away coast about a kilometer.
