What can attract visitors in Morshin? First of all, this existence of mineral sources that in general is characteristic of some areas of Prikarpatye, and is well expressed in Morshin and vicinities. Besides, it is a landscape unique in many respects and soft, pleasant climate – all this causes a possibility of excellent rest in these parts, receiving unforgettable impressions and noticeable improvement of an organism.
The city is rather old, though not such ancient as other famous places of Ukraine. Once there was a small village of the sizes to a little more than ten yards belonging to the Polish shlyakhtich. In the 15th century local sources were known to people, but in those far times water was used absolutely differently, than than now – it was used in the cottage salt industry, evaporating from it salt. However, the similar product made not enough success as the salt received from mineral water did not differ in high qualities and was not as demanded as that that was got in other fields of Ukraine. Salts tried to adjust production over time and local magnates, but also this attempt failed. Therefore, Morshin was not rather developed up to the middle of the XIX century when here paved railway tracks. Those years the city was a part of the Austro-Hungarian empire.
Bonifatsy Shtiller - one of morshinsky merchants who had an idea of the hydropathic resorts of Europe – Baden-Baden, Karlovy Vary, and about some other decided to use water differently. The thought came to its mind to turn into the similar place and Morshin, attracting vacationers not only at the expense of curative sources here, but also thanks to the most beautiful landscapes and a unique landscape of the area which looks extremely beautifully also today. Shtiller in Morshin invited the experts who undertook development of sources and so, gradually, in this place the hydropathic resort which began to prosper promptly thanks to again adjusted transport availability to these regions grew.
The most dense development of natural wealth of Morshin was observed in the second half of the same 19th century. Here the resort was officially open, a number of balnearies with bathtubs and procedural is constructed, mineral sources were removed to stone pavilions. Treatment on waters in general was extremely fashionable and popular in those days, and many preferred closer Morshin to various European resorts – can, and more widely known, but far and expensive. Thus, the dense flow of visitors who came every season on waters got better here.
Besides, the city became widely known not only across all Austria-Hungary, but also abroad. The international message was adjusted, and there arrived trains from other countries. Bottled morshinsky water was delivered the abroad and became is quite popular also in England, and even in the USA. Except water, near the city, fields of therapeutic mud were found, and in Morshin there were also mud baths that allowed vacationers to undergo a number of useful procedures, combining several different types of treatment. Fungus - the pump room with mineral water and several cranes became a symbol of Morshin. Everywhere private boarding houses, hotels and holiday houses were under construction, and as of the beginning of the XX century Morshin could compete to the leading balneological resorts of Europe successfully.

The picture changed a little after these areas became a part of the USSR. The private sector was curtailed, and balnearies and other infrastructure departed in the order of the state. Commercial holiday houses turned into the state sanatoria, and instead of idle public the staff of the Soviet institutions and various enterprises began to come to Morshin. However continuously there was also a development – there was a new policlinic, a number of dining rooms, movie theaters and many other, created in order that rest of city visitors was as much as possible comfortable. In the 60th years the resort departed in maintaining labor unions. There was also a sanatorium for parents with children here.
Every year inflow of visitors to Morshin considerably increased. Gradually the city found all-Union value, and treatment was considered as not less prestigious here, than similar procedures in sanatoria of Caucasus Mineralnye Vody region and other similar places. As the Soviet statistics shows, every new season to Morshin there came more and more people.
The city kept the great value and with independence approach. Today here the same sanatoria work, as in Soviet period, however appeared also much new. Fully here to have a rest and receive medical treatment, here go both citizens of Ukraine, and residents of other states. There come many vacationers from Russia and Belarus. The market economy gave a new incentive for development of the local enterprises, and today here it is possible to combine good rest with useful procedures perfectly.
As it was already told above, not only local mineral waters and curative dirt attract people who regularly go here. Morshin is an and most beautiful landscape of the foothills of the Carpathians, and the marvelous, delightful nature – the woods, slopes of mountains, streams, fresh air – and perfectly established infrastructure. Besides, it is possible to have a rest in Morshin much cheaper, than in the similar resorts of Europe. For this reason, there come many foreign guests here.
It is possible to distinguish several types of bathtubs from useful procedures – pearl, coniferous and others. Also mud cure practices here. Inhalations, improving physical education – all this is also available in the operating sanatoria. And the graceful architecture of many buildings of the city in combination with natural beauty does Morshin by really unique vacation spot.
