Spaniards are the real gourmets in the choice of food and drink therefore through the whole country numerous restaurants, cafe, snackbars, taverns are located. Their main feature is what is ment consists of national dishes which I have the regional features.

Institutions of public catering

Except traditional places of public catering, through the whole country the international snackbars Wok to Wolk, McDonalds, KFS where it is possible to have a bite or drink coffee are open. They are competed by small cafes, the called 100 montadiotos where serve only sandwiches. Make them of products which can be met only in regions of the country. For this reason here different categories of the population so like to go – from young people to elderly who are attracted by an opportunity quickly and to have a bite nourishingly.

It should be noted also existence in the cities of Spain existence and the Chinese restaurants where the dishes of Asian and European cuisine are served. Here also rather often locals as for only 9-10 euros it is possible to eat fully visit. While at such price it is possible to find a business lunch which can be ordered since midday in national institutions. 

Distinctive feature of cafe and taverns is work as usual buffet where the number of approaches behind food and drinks isn't limited. 

The oldest restaurant in the country Sobrino de Botin opened in Madrid in the 1720th is considered. 

Gastronomic culture

Practically in all institutions give different types тапео and тапас, forming the basis of food of Spaniards. These dishes created special gastronomic culture and also lifestyle. During meal the inhabitants communicate with friends and drink. Therefore everywhere special tapas-bars where serve sandwiches and snack began to be organized. 

Soups in the menu can be seen not often though in each institution it is possible to see traditional first course of a gazpacho. It is the cold soup cooked from tomatoes, a cucumber, pepper, spices and bread.

Also ethnic cuisine includes a paella (pilaf to which seafood is added) and jamón (dry-cured pork). The integral batteries makes also the sea menu as Spaniards eat fish and mollusks much.

Carry to the most widespread alcoholic beverages white (Pendes and Ampurdan) and red (sangria) wines and also a sherry.
