Margarita - one of the most popular and known cocktails in the world. There is a popular belief that tequila is obliged to this cocktail by growth of popularity. There is a set of legends of an invention of this surprising drink.

1. The most popular legend says that this cocktail was mixed for the first time in 1935 (some sources insist for 1940) in one of bars in the neighborhood of Takhuana where the secular public from the USA often gathered. Exactly there it was possible to meet often the little-known actress by the name of Marjorie King who had an allergy to any alcohol except tequila. Unfortunately, the young girl didn't love tequila at all. On a legend the local bartender decided on an experiment and mixed a part of lime juice, two parts of the Tripl Sek liqueur and three parts of tequila to change Marjorie's opinion on this alcoholic drink. It gave the turned-out mix in a glass for champagne whose edges previously I dipped in salt. The turned-out mix of tastes delighted Marjorie King, and cocktail was called in her honor as the Spanish-speaking bartender translated a name of Marjorie as Margarita.

2. Other legend claims that on July 4, 1942 to the Mexican bartender by the name of Moralez the client ordered Magnolia cocktail which part cointreau is, brandy, champagne and a vitellus, unfortunately, the bartender from all structure remembered only cointreau therefore he decided to improvise and added juice of a lime and tequila to this drink. The turned-out drink became a hit.

3. According to the third legend, Margarita was invented during Christmas holidays of 1948 by the girl by the name of Margarita Sames. She adored making unique mixes of drinks for the guests. Margarita called in her honor became very successful mix which Sames Tommie Hilton was extended in bars of his hotels by the friend. Margarita Sames in 1999 was presented in the reference book on tequila and Margarita as the creator of this cocktail.

4. There are many another stories of origin of Margarita, their most part attributes creation of this cocktail to various Mexican bars in an interval between 1930 and 1950. Unfortunately, any inventor didn't patent this recipe therefore it is impossible to tell with confidence what of stories is closer to the truth.

5. Classical Margarita includes tequila (usually Blanco), orange liqueur and fresh juice of a lime. The basic recipe recommends to use three parts of tequila of Blanco, two parts of the Tripl Sek liqueur and a part of lime juice, however modern variations assume use and other juice, the main thing that they were freshly squeezed as packaged, as a rule, too luscious for ideal balance of taste. Addition of salt on edge of a glass allows to achieve an ideal flavoring combination sour, sweet and salty which is perfectly complemented with pleasant bitterness of tequila.
