1. Square through the Insert symbol menu is the simplest to designate a root. For this purpose select in turn menu items of Vstavka-Simvol... In the plate which appeared on the screen with character set choose the sign of a root square and press the Insert button. The symbol of a square root will appear in the text. (Usually the window with character set closes the most part of the text therefore emergence of a symbol can be not noticed). To accelerate search of a square root, choose in the field "set": "mathematical symbols" point. To see the complete list of available symbols, in the field "from" it is necessary to establish "Unicode (shestn.)".
2. The choice of a root square (as well as any other sign) can be accelerated considerably if to know its code for which input there is a special field: "Code of the sign". For a root of square (v), it - "221A" (the register is not important, "And" - English). It is more convenient to carry out repeated input of symbols by means of the special panel "Earlier Used Symbols". If the badge of a square root is used very often, then here it is possible to adjust combinations of "hot keys" or parameters of automatic replacement. A set of the presented symbols also depends on the font specified in the Font field - in some fonts of a square root it can not appear.
3. Most quicker to designate a root square by means of the Alt key and the code of a square root. For this purpose press the Alt button and, holding it, gather on a digital part of keyboard 251.
4. If under the sign of a root there is a difficult mathematical expression, then it is better to designate a badge of a square root by means of the editor of formulas. For this purpose select consistently following items of the menu: An insert – the Object – Microsoft Equation 3.0. After that the editor of mathematical formulas where, in particular, there will be also a symbol of a square root will open. If there is no line "Microsoft Equation 3.0" in a drop-down menu, means at installation of the Word program this option was not established. For installation of this opportunity insert an adjusting disk with the Word program (it is desirable from what initial installation was made) and start the program of installation. Note the Microsoft Equation 3.0 check mark and this line will become available.
5. Similar way of writing in Word of a symbol of a square root. Select consistently following items of the menu: An insert – the Field – the Formula – Eq. Then the editor of mathematical formulas will open.
6. It is possible to write a root square and by means of a combination of special symbols. For this purpose press a combination of Ctrl+F9 keys. Then, in the appeared braces gather: eq (; 1000000) also press F9. As a result the root will turn out square of one million. Naturally, instead of 1000000 it is possible to enter any, necessary to you, number... By the way, the received expression can be edited further.
7. The square root can be drawn and independently, by means of the "graphic editor" who is built in Word. For this purpose deploy the panel of drawing and draw a root square, having connected three pieces. If there is no button for the panel of drawing, then press: A look – the Toolbars also check opposite to the line "Drawing". If under the sign of a root it is planned to dial any digits or expressions, then adjust the option "flow with the text" on "before the text" or "behind the text".
