Normal operation of the household washing and heating appliances requires a certain pressure of water in a water supply system. Especially it concerns flowing electric and gas water heaters. 1. At autonomous (located in rural areas) water supply systems, is available several reasons leading to pressure drop in a water supply system. First of all, check serviceability of operation of the automatic switch of the pump station. For this purpose connect the manometer to an output branch pipe of the pump station and turn on it. The electric motor has to be switched off when pressure rises up to 2.5 atmospheres. Then open the locking crane a little and slowly lower water from the hydroaccumulator. When pressure falls up to 1 atmosphere, the engine of the pump station has to turn on. Then check air pressure in an air chamber, it has to be about 2 atmospheres. If it is lower, lift it to this level. If results of check strongly differ from the above calculations, give the pump station to repair.

2. In case when opening the crane in the house water quickly goes under a big pressure, and then the pressure is reduced significantly, so you hammered a water supply system. Clean it by means of a sanitary steel cable. If it is impossible – replace the damaged section of the pipeline.

3. In case water pressure in a water supply system periodically decreases and rises without any system, determine the maximum simultaneous flow of water in the house. For this purpose count quantity of the water distributing points. On one point the rated consumption rate of water is 0.6 cubic meters of water an hour. In calculation it is assumed that two thirds of total at the same time can work.

4. Example: together with the heating column washing and the washing machine (if is) in the house there are 5 water distributing points. Means, increase 3×0.6 and receive the size of maximum flow of water in this house. It is equal 1.8 cubic meters an hour. Convert this value into liters a minute. For this purpose divide 1.8 into 60 and increase by one thousand. The received number will be value of maximum flow of water in a minute.

5. Check whether there corresponds the performance of your pump station to value of maximum flow of water in the house. With an insufficient performance water pressure in the water supply system will be inevitable to fall and such water station needs to be replaced with more powerful model.
