The hydrogen generator – the device producing hydrogen from water onboard the car. The received gas comes to the intake manifold of the engine, providing economy of fuel and in certain cases - increase in its power. In the USA the similar generators are manufactured industrially and cost from 300 to 800 dollars. In the Russian conditions everything needs to be done independently.

- - polyethylene canister;
- - plates and electrodes;
- - connecting wires;
- - hoses and collars;
- - sealant and sealing tape;
- - silicone rubber.
Instruction
1. For creation of the simplest generator pick up suitable capacity for water. In capacity establish plates. Through a capacity cover bring electrodes to plates. Either make a cover easily removable, or provide in it hermetically the closed opening for replenishment by water. Also in the top part of the generator make an exhaust tube of supply of hydrogen in the intake manifold. The cover surely has to be closed hermetically. Having applied quality insulating materials between plates, you reduce losses of the electric power.
2. At operation of the received generator you watch that mechanical connections of electric conclusions and plates did not become loose. It can lead to their heating and even sparking that is unsafe in the fire relation. The case of the generator has to be rather strong not to be damaged when jolting. For giving of bigger durability paste to the case of the plane from plexiglas or a stiffening rib from the same material. For the isolating laying of a cover use silicone rubber 1 mm thick.
3. For modernization of the received generator adapt for it the second tank, the fastening higher than the level of the first. Both tanks need to be connected two tubes. The first – from the lower part of one tank to the lower part of another, for water supply. The second – connecting the top parts of tanks for removal of gas. At the same time the second tank will serve for storage of water and gas, and the first – directly for transformation of water to gas. Besides, the received gas upon transition to the top tank will be separated from small particles of liquid. The arrangement of tanks has to be such that length of the connecting hoses was minimum.
4. Collect an electronic control unit by the generator independently if there are skills in radio electronics. If there are no skills, order it to experts. The control unit has to change automatically the current given on plates, in direct ratio to engine speed. Previously by practical consideration establish the necessary power of the generator (current on plates) on single turns and in the mode of the maximum power. It will be respectively a minimum and a maximum of power of the generator. The control unit has to take the operating signals from regular sensors of the car.
5. Upon termination of installation of the hydrogen generator surely check all connections of hoses for tightness. For this purpose apply with a sponge soapsuds on all places of connections. At the same time any leak will have an effect the inflated vials of gas. Leak of hydrogen affects not only fire and explosion safety of a design, but also on the fact of reduction of fuel consumption. In other words, even the slightest leak is capable to cause negative effect – the car will begin to spend the increased fuel quantity.
