Books and movies speak about Cleopatra (69 — 30 BC) as one of the most beautiful and bright women in the history. There are, however, researchers who subject to doubts improbable beauty of this legendary Egyptian queen.

1. Various images of Cleopatra remained on ancient papyruses and in the form of statues, and they often considerably differ among themselves. Anyway it should be taken into account that each artist and the sculptor has the vision represented therefore the remained sources cannot show in the accuracy what was Cleopatra.
2. The queen was the Greek origin - she belonged to the Greek dynasty Ptolemeev. The assumption of researchers is based on it that it had black hair and light skin. Judging by one of reconstruction which was made by scientists, it had big oblong eyes, chubby lips, a long and wide nose, swarty skin, curly hair. According to other versions of a lip it were narrow, a nose - with a small hump, growth - low, and a figure - plump.
3. The Egyptologist from the Cambridge university (Britain) Selli of Ann Ashton made the version of a three-dimensional portrait of Cleopatra on the basis of the analysis of all known portraits of the queen on coins, jewelry, parchment, the sculptural portraits created during her board. It appeared, the shape of the legendary woman was far from what was presented on the screen by film actresses Elizabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren. Selli Ann considers that Cleopatra had not completely Caucasian appearance. Besides, it is considered that Cleopatra was able to look after well herself and knew a set of recipes of beauty and also skillfully used aromas.
