English is traditionally carried to group of the West German languages. It was created from several dialects which made the Old English language brought to the British Isles by Anglo-Saxons in the 5th century. As a result of cultural and political impact of Great Britain the English actually turned into means of interethnic communication.

English, close to modern, was formed approximately in the 13th century, having allocated from mix of the French and Anglo-Saxon languages. A bit later it took literary shape and began to differ in special richness of vocabulary and an originality of grammatical forms. History of English is divided into three periods: Old English, Middle English and new English. From XI to the 15th century the formation of English was under the influence of the Normans who intruded in Britain. So in Old English language there was one of adverbs of Old French language which was brought with themselves by conquerors. This language became property of the top classes and churches. However small number of conquerors could not lead to significant changes in language, the indigenous people of the country belonged to Anglo-Saxons. The compromise option was as a result formed and that language which is called English today was created. The new period in development of language began with the 16th century and proceeds so far.
