Mechanism of influence of a blue lamp
The blue lamp represents a quartz mercury gas-discharge lamp which radiates ultra-violet waves of range from 205 to 315 nanometers. This range of ultra-violet waves gives a blue range of radiation for this reason the lamp is called blue. Ultra-violet waves of this range of radiation destructively influence structure of DNA, squirrels and biological membranes of microorganisms that, in turn, leads to death of a part of the microorganisms which underwent radiation. The rest shares, but as a result of DNA changes a part of the next generation of microorganisms perishes too. Within 2-4 weeks after radiation there can be either a final death of all microorganisms, or recovery of their former quantity. The requirement of regularity of quartz treatment of rooms is also explained by a possibility of the last.
It should be noted that microorganisms in different degree react to quartz treatment process. Sticks and cocci are the most sensitive to the radiation of a quartz lamp, and here mushrooms and the simplest microorganisms are less sensitive. The sporous forms of bacteria which are found even in top, the most subject to the natural radiation of this range atmosphere layers are most resistant to radiation.
The principle of use of a blue lamp in house conditions
The period for which the optimum disinfecting effect for an open lamp is reached is from 15 to 30 minutes, for screened - 1-2 hours. At the same time an open quartz lamp use during the day short-term sessions 15-30 minutes respectively. The closed (screened) lamp on condition of good ventilation indoors can continuously work.
In house conditions most often use open quartz lamps. There is a number of precautions which need to be observed when using an open quartz lamp. During quartz treatment by such lamp it is necessary to exclude a possibility of stay in people, animals and plants. In order to avoid a burn of a cornea of an eye it is not necessary to look at the working open lamp. In operating time of a quartz lamp, air is indoors ionized and in a large number the ozone having negative effect on the respiratory system of the person is formed. Therefore after the quartz treatment session the room should be aired. Action of a quartz lamp extends only to microorganisms within lamp radiation therefore it is necessary to apply a lamp in a complex with other methods of disinfection.
