It will also be a research object, and its comprehensive study - the purpose. In the social and humanitarian sphere the researcher usually himself defines the purposes and tasks of the work. Answer yourself a question why this research is necessary.

2. Formulate a subject. It can become also the name of your research. The subject has to capture the research essence precisely. From the name the potential reader has to learn about what you studied. General names, it seems "Live old times" or "Potatoes" in this case do not approach. "Life and life of employees of such plant in the years of World War I" are better to call work. In the second case it is possible to tell, for example, about advantages of the grades of potatoes which recently appeared in your area.

3. Choose research methods. Write in what way you will collect data and to analyze them. Enters methodology including studying works of predecessors. Find literature and sources on a subject. Try that the list of works was the fullest. Analyze them. Formulate what you agree with and that causes your objections and why. It is possible that there is already a scientific hypothesis explaining this phenomenon. Your task is to confirm it or to disprove. You can state the hypothesis also. It has to be reasonable.

4. Define what has to be a practical part of your research. It can be, for example, an experiment, collecting and the analysis of data. Choose a form in which you will present it.

5. Begin to write research from introduction. Formulate a subject, the purposes, tasks, methodology. Specify why you decided to make any given experiments. Do not forget to specify that the scientific outlook prefers evident and convincing experiments to unsubstantiated theoretical statements. If in your work data which cannot be checked experimentally are used, surely tell about it. Such data are called myths or mythemes. It is better to avoid them if they are not research objects.
