Unblock a mobile system by means of the arresting device, install both weights on zero division and make sure that the yoke is in strictly horizontal position, then again block the arresting device. Get up on the platform and ask the assistant to unblock the arresting device and to move at first big, and then small weights on a scale to such situation in which the yoke will be in strictly horizontal position (in scales there is a special index allowing to define, whether so it). It is undesirable to carry out measurement without assistant as during measurement it is impossible to move. Block the arresting device, descend from the platform and read indications on rough and exact scales.
