How to draw scale

Knowledge Base Hits: 74

Representatives of many professions face need to execute the drawing in a certain scale. This moment is usually specified in norms, and not only for all project, but also for each its detail or a stage of development. Face this problem as those who carry out the project with the help of the T-square and a pencil on a leaf of a Whatman paper, and working in the AutoCAD program.

It is required to you

Instruction

1. Get acquainted with in what scale you need to draw a detail. Scale represents the relation of the size which will be on the drawing, to actual. For project and cartographic works there are standards, but anyway you need to know the actual sizes of a detail or the site.

2. Take one of the sizes. Count what length there has to be the respective line on the drawing. In as much time reduce also other parameters. Draw a detail and put down the actual sizes. For performance of project works the scales of each type of drawings are specified in Construction Norms and Regulations. This moment is important also at implementation of the drawing on paper, however it gains the special importance in computer design.

3. Define purpose of the drawing and each section. Scale often depends on what section of the project is submitted on the drawing. If for general plans options 1:200, 1:250, 1:500 and 1:1000 are established, then separate knots have to be executed more largely.

4. Scale can be set as before work, and having already executed a part of the drawing or even all. Before work choose conditional scale. Anyway you have actual sizes of an object, and it is possible to go in the same way, as during creation of the "paper" drawing. That is when drawing each line you just calculate its sizes and enter them into the corresponding window. For this purpose in the program there is a built-in calculator. But it is much more convenient to use the option "Basic Piece".

5. It is possible to go and some other way. For example, if you need to draw several identical details of the different size, execute at first one. Then copy an object and insert. Allocate it. It can be done and after you will cause the necessary team.

6. Find the option "Editing" in the menu. Find the Scale team there (in the English-language version – Skale). The same can be done, having clicked a mouse on the corresponding panel. The program allows to enter the corresponding team into a command line also.

7. If you allocated nothing yet, the program will suggest you to make it. After you see the corresponding team and you will designate what part of the drawing was would like to be scaled, press Enter.

8. In a command line you will see the offer to specify a basic point, that is that which has to remain on the place. Enter its coordinates.

9. The following step which to you suggests AutoCAD – to set scaling coefficient. Enter the necessary number. It can be more or less than unit. In the first case the scale will increase, in the second, respectively, will decrease.
