How to find body speed

Knowledge Base Hits: 76

To have though some idea of the movement of a body, we have to know its speed. And therefore it is worth getting acquainted with some methods of its stay.

Instruction

1. The easiest way is in using a school formula v=S/t. I.e. to divide the distance passed by a body into that time for which it overcame this distance. This way is the simplest and at the same time the most reliable when determining average speed, but it possesses a number of shortcomings.1. If we do not know the distance passed by a body, then the formula will be useless. 2. We do not learn speeds on certain sites. For more exact determination of speed use methods of the higher mathematics.

2. One of such ways is integration of the second law of Newton. Its formula: F = m*W where F is force operating on a body, m is body weight, W is acceleration of a body, i.e. change of speed eventually. So, to find body speed, it is necessary to integrate acceleration on time. But acceleration at us is on a formula W=F/m therefore it is necessary to take integral from expression of F/m on dt. Integration is made on the formulas written in the drawing above.

3. Thus, if force operating on a body is constant, then the speed of a body weighing 10 kilograms which force of 10 newton within one second affects will be equal to V=F*t/m = 10*1/10 = 1 meter per second. This way allows to learn body speed in any timepoint that undoubtedly is big advantage.

4. Knowing the law of the movement of a body, it is possible to take from it a derivative and also to receive value of speed at any moment. Formula of the law of the movement: S = S(t) is function from time. I.e. speed is a change of the distance passed by a body eventually.
