- Nitrate of potassium (sodium), it is gray, a test tube, a support, sand, potassium permanganate, aluminum, the fire extinguisher.
Instruction
1. Take an unnecessary chemical test tube and place in it a little nitrate of potassium or nitrate of sodium (saltpeter). Fix a test tube on a support and heat it by means of the gas burner.
2. Wait so far saltpeter will not melt. When melting, nitrates of alkaline metals decay with formation of nitrites and release of pure oxygen. When release of oxygen becomes steady, then remove a torch and substitute under a test tube a cup with sand, the test tube will not sustain this experience, it will melt.
3. Then take a small piece of sulfur and set fire to it. Ship the set on fire sulfur in the test tube filled with oxygen from saltpeter decomposition. Sulfur will intensively burn down in the atmosphere of oxygen, at this reaction very high temperature is formed.
4. Take a little permanganate of potassium (potassium permanganate) and carefully mix it with aluminum shaving (it is possible with a serebryanka). Then insert a magnesian tape into mix and set fire to it (only depart far away). There will be a short-term flash to big allocation of warmth. Temperature at this reaction reaches several thousand degrees.
