Rosin is constantly applied when soldering various metals both at the enterprises of electronic industry, and at various repair work in house conditions. This solid transparent substance is necessary also at preparation of some protective varnishes and mastics. Dancers rub with rosin soles, and musicians — bows. So the range of its application is very wide. It is possible to make rosin.

Instruction

1. Begin production of rosin with collecting pitch. Pitch of all coniferous trees approaches, but it is most often used fir-tree or pine. For rosin preparation commercially crude turpentine is collected from the trees intended for cutting. In this case notches in which lower part the metal trench or a funnel is fixed become. On them pitch flows down in the vessel tied to a tree. Enough crude turpentine can be collected on logging or on a power-saw bench where dry the prepared boards of coniferous breeds. Pitch very often acts on timber and on fresh stubs. Crude turpentine is collected, reeling up it on a clean wooden stick. It is possible to scrape off it a scraper or a spoon in a metal tin or a kettle.

2. Or to bank with crude turpentine put a kettle on fire. It is the best of all to prepare rosin on a fire in the open air. Pitch will melt and boil, emitting turpentine vapors. Periodically stir slowly kettle contents, removing foam and the emerging garbage from a surface. Heat pitch until boiling and release of turpentine stops. During this process avoid strong fire - otherwise pitch and vapors can ignite. If all this happened, cover a kettle with dense fabric. It is impossible to extinguish water in this case.

3. After the termination of boiling at you in a kettle viscous transparent liquid of characteristic amber color will turn out. Pour it in the prepared cardboard forms. It is possible to fill in rosin and in metal ware, and in plastic, but from cardboard it is easier to get it then. If there is a need, it is possible to filter rosin via the small metal gauze. Keep in mind that this substance very quickly hardens therefore it is necessary to work too quickly. Do not pour out the remains from a kettle bottom in molds, there the garbage usually accumulates. Leave boxes to stiffen on air. The cooled-down rosin is ready to the use.
