Metal alloys, their application in the industry

Metal alloys, their application in the industry

Knowledge Base Hits: 72

Metal products and objects which surround the person seldom have uniform structure. The copper wire or a pan from aluminum contain only some objects to 99.9% of pure metal, for example. In other cases of people deals with alloys which consist of several metals or a combination of metal and nonmetal.

Zinc alloys

Zinc alloys contain such metals as zinc, aluminum, copper and magnesium in the structure. In production and life they are applied to production of souvenirs, ware, bearings, office equipment, constructional mechanisms. They are used in mechanical engineering, in the sphere of electric machine industry and automotive industry.

Titanic alloys

Titanic alloys can consist of various metals, generally of aluminum, vanadium, titanium, molybdenum, manganese, chrome, copper, tungsten and nickel. They are widely applied in production of structural materials, aviation construction, rocket production, in space mechanical engineering, to production of chemical ware and the equipment.

Aluminum alloys

Aluminum alloys in the structure may contain aluminum, magnesium, copper, zinc, manganese, lithium and beryllium. Due to the corrosion resistance, alloys of aluminum found the application in production of cases of planes and the equipment, mechanical engineering, production of electrotechnical devices and materials, ware, facing panels, doors and electric cables.

Iron alloys

Iron, or iron-carbon alloys contain other metals and nonmetallic elements in the structure. Iron, carbon, sulfur, phosphorus, manganese, nitrogen, chrome, nickel, molybdenum, titanium, cobalt and tungsten is applied to production of steel, cast iron or ferroalloys. Alloys of iron are applied practically in all industries of production, in the field of structural materials, economy, mechanical engineering, by production of tools, devices and details.

Copper alloys

Alloys of copper can incorporate zinc, tin, nickel, aluminum, beryllium and phosphorus. They found broad application in the industries of production of pipes, the heattechnical equipment, bearings, gears and sleeves, details, springs, precision instruments. Also alloys of copper are applied in arts and crafts and a sculpture.

Solid alloys

Alloys which contain carbides of metals of cobalt, nickel, steel and molybdenum in the structure are called firm. They have high refractoriness, hardness, resistance to corrosion and also wear resistance. Solid alloys in production of tools are applied to processing of other metals, alloys and solid nonmetals as napayka for working parts of boring units and as structural materials.
