The social pedagogics is a science about impact of the social environment on development and formation of the personality. Practical application of social pedagogics happens in implementation of the social and pedagogical activity which is a special type of professional activity.
Social and pedagogical activity
Scientific research of social pedagogics is directed to development of methods of harmonization of interaction of the person and society. The purposes of professional activity of social pedagogics are formation of favorable conditions for development of the person in the public environment, assistance in development by the individual of social experience and overcoming negative influences. Realization of these purposes happens in the form of providing social and pedagogical services. They are carried out both in educational institutions, and in the special organizations and the centers of the help.
Certain individuals, groups of people and social institutes can be consumers of social and pedagogical services. Depending on it, social and pedagogical activity can have individual character, group and mass. Most often social and pedagogical activity is individual and is directed to assistance to the child or the teenager.
The social pedagogics as professional activity helps the individual to satisfy the following social requirements: - an opportunity to adopt social experience; - occurrence on social Wednesday; - compliance to basic social norms; - development of skills of communication; - the need for self-realization as the member of society; - self-improvement. In some cases social and pedagogical activity is directed to assistance to individuals in restoration of the lost social functions, adaptation to an unusual social environment, overcoming crisis situations.
Types of social and pedagogical services
Social and pedagogical services differ by the following types: - educational and educational are directed to increase in education level and education and also re-education; - information and advisory are focused on providing information or consultation about achievements of social pedagogics, are usually carried out in the form of the telephone hotline; - rehabilitation are directed to restoration of social functions, integration into society under the changed interaction conditions; - organizational help to organize the individual's resources by means of purposes for achievement of concrete results; - methodical are used in self-education and self-education; - expert – drawing up expert estimates of certain situations or acts.
