The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of the United States of America. This unique architectural construction is pleasing more than hundred years to the eye of Americans and tourists from all over the world.
One of the main American attractions – the Statue of Liberty was presented to the country by the French as a sign of mutual friendship and cooperation and also as a sign of century of the American revolution. There was it in far 1886. Ever since for all who came to the USA behind new life this surprising monument became freedom symbol. Richard Hunt was the author of the project. It on creation of this masterpiece needed nine months. In New York at a ceremony which was held in August, 1885 the statue was put.
The American experts had to be engaged in a pedestal, and charged a framework to the French. As a pedestal for a monument chose one of massive stone tabs. But during installation there were problems. Very strong material was necessary easy, but at the same time. The monument was created from 300 sheets.
