The imagination has no clear boundary. All who at least once in life made some extremely important discovery or an invention can confirm it. In the sea industry there is a custom too: to create periodically the biggest vessels for big money.

Container carriers

The vessel "MSC Gülsün" is considered the biggest container carrierIt finished the first flight in August, 2019, having done a way from China to Germany. Length at such giant equals 400 m; width reaches 60 m. To realize scale of the sizes of the deck, it is necessary to present four football fields located closely on the lower side one by one. The owner of the merchant ship says that transportation of cargo which he is capable to transport this container carrier will require 1358 Boeing 747 or 14000 aircraft of big trucks.

Extent in 400 meters has also other container carrier "CSCL Globe" built in South Korea. But here width it is slightly less: 59 m. Still the MSC Oscar container carrier assembled too on South Korean shipyard in 2014 differs in impressive characteristics. Length and width at it equal according to 395 m and 59 m.

Passenger ships

The Symphony of the Seas liner is recognized as the biggest cruise vessel  (in translation: "Symphony of the seas"). Lowered on the water surface the vessel in France in 2018, and spent many funds for its construction: $1.35 billion. At such huge liner length is equal to 361 m, the widest place reaches at the rate to 66 m. Its height – 72, 5 m. By the ship there are 18 decks capable to accomodate 6680 having a rest passengers and 2200 crew members. The liner can transport the people inclined to romanticism and travel, with a speed of 22.6 knots (41.9 km/h) thanks to operation of six powerful engines. Treat them: "TI Africa", "TI Asia", "TI Europe" and "TI Oceania". Extent of each tanker is 380 m, and the maximum width equals 68 m. At full load of the vessel the speed increases up to 16.5 knots (30.5 km/h).

Bulk ships

There is one more type of vessel in the ranks of which it is possible to find the ships, length the exceeding 350 m. Bulk ships are the vessels transporting dry, cargo is more often bulk. The greatest of them transport ore. Length of bulk ships of the class "Valemax" equals 362 m. The greatest width they have 65 m. In 1986 it sustained damage from the anti-ship missile launched in it from the Iraqi fighter aircraft (war between Iran and Iraq was at that time waged). After that the tanker was under repair and continued swimming. And in 2010 it was thrown out on the Indian coast where the cemetery of the ships under the name "Coast of Dead Persons" is located. Today this biggest vessel which was ever constructed.

Hopes

The science, technologies continue continuously and the development is persistent. The merchant fleet "stays afloat" including thanks to them. And what will be farther what sizes will blow our mind what epithets we will be capable to pick up, describing large-scale constructions, depends on human will and imagination.
