With the nature of weight and energy in physics still not everything is clear. Almost everyone heard these terms, but has a vague idea of value of such words. It is not necessary to be confused: physics also still did not come to a consensus concerning values of a set of physical concepts. For example, disputes on continue whether energy can have weight.

About a concept of energy of physics

At the ordinary level of consciousness it is considered to be that energy of substance (or fields) can put the most various electric and mechanical devices in action. However from strictly scientific point of view operation of any devices means that use of power sources only initiates interaction between certain processes.

Application at the household level of the concept "energy" creates illusion of the fact that in the world it is present at a type of special material substance. Such illusion quite often leads to confusion of physical concepts. Sometimes it is necessary to hear statements and that energy can have weight.

However at an explanation of physical interactions there is no need to consider energy as a certain separate substance. Exchange of any physical system of energy with Wednesday means that between Wednesday and a system a certain interaction takes place.

The concept "energy" is entered into science by T. Jung: he replaced with this term the concept "manpower" occurring earlier.

In two dozen popular textbooks at the rate of physics energy is called the ability of a system to make some work. In many grants it is honestly told that there is no standard definition of energy today.

In scientific literature the term "energy" is understood quite often as a synonym of concepts of the field and radiation. Energy – physical quantity. But it is not localized in space and has no nature of the substance capable to have weight.

Weight as physical concept

Weight in physics it is considered to be a measure of existence in a substance body and also a measure of inertia of any body in relation to the certain force operating on it. Weight is considered an absolute value and can have the standards.

At the time Albert Einstein entered a formula where the ratio between the weight and energy is defined into science. According to this treatment, energy (E) equals to the body weight (m) multiplied by a square of the speed of light (c). Thus, the relativistic physics approved equivalence of energy and weight. Follows from a formula that in process of increase in speed the body weight increases.

Distinguish the mass of rest and relativistic weight. It is considered to be that at approach of speed to light values weight becomes infinitely big. This ratio makes impossible for any physical object excess of light speed: otherwise it should recognize that the body moving at the speed of light has infinite weight that is beyond the scope of common sense and experience.

A specific place in a physical picture of the world is held by a photon. Scientists agreed to consider that this particle has no mass of rest. To stop light meanwhile at anybody it did not turn out. Physicists still puzzles: if energy is capable to be based in the weight, then from where energy at a photon, a bezmassovy particle undertakes?

The physics conceals in itself a set of riddles. And not all her concepts are divided by most of scientists – even with a world name.
