Suicide – voluntary deprivation of of life. The reasons of a similar act people can have mental diseases, loss of meaning of life pursuing failures and humiliation by people around, loss of the loved one. These reactions are inherent in the person, but it is interesting whether there were cases of suicides in fauna?
Lemmings
The myth that lemmings of times get off several years in packs to proceed for the leader to break or a water barrier where they are waited by voluntary death is quite distributed. Similar actions are allegedly directed to reducing extremely increased number of population and to save a look from extinction. However actually these little animals prefer to live alone, have no leader and not bad swim. The last observations of scientists showed that the sharp slowdown of number of lemmings happens not because of suicides of animals. In the conditions of narrowness the males become more aggressive and begin to kill cubs, thereby regulating number of individuals.
Whales
Sad show – several huge majestic beings lie on the earth, dying under the weight of own body. Whales run aground in many corners of the planet, one by one or groups. Mystical
Not all cases of death of animals reminding suicides, scientists managed to explain successfully. For example, in Scotland there is a bridge under the name Overtown from which dogs regularly jump off. The majority of falling from fifteen-meter height come to an end with the death of a dog, however some persistent suicides made it twice.
