1. Not later than a month prior to the beginning of frosts choose the horizontal platform on the site interesting you. On it there should not be trees and bushes in a radius of two of freezing depths, average for your region.
2. The drill having diameter of a tip of 37 mm drill the well. Depth of the well has to exceed the estimated depth of freezing not less than on 30 cm. At the same time select tests of soil through each 10 cm.
3. In the received well ship casing pipe. Fill up the available spaces between walls of a pipe and soil with dry sand and stamp. Raise a ground level at a pipe on 3-5 cm that departed and did not stand rain or melt water.
4. Take the Ratomsky's merzlotomer (RM) and fill his metal tube with clay soil from the well. Soil has to be moistened to a condition of a raskatyvaniye. Insert the filled tube into casing pipe. Record installation time of MR in the magazine of observations.
5. If you use the Danilin's merzlotomer (DM), fill the rubber tube which is in his set with the distilled water to the brim. Stop up the ends of a tube with kapron traffic jams and also immediately ship in casing pipe.
6. Sequence of carrying out measurements on MR: - take out a metal tube with clay soil; - pierce soil a metal wire with a diameter of 2 mm to a tverdomerzly state and determine freezing depth; - register results; - as soon as possible return a metal tube to casing pipe.
7. Sequence of carrying out measurements on MD: - take out a rubber tube with the distilled water; - probing, define the end of an ice column; - record border and register results; - immediately return a tube back.
