Water – a life cradle. All of us are familiar with this statement, however in the course of our evolution learned to use such water which is capable to kill some living beings – for example aquarium fishes. In principle, for aquariums it is possible to use any drinking, but, not mineral, water. However, only after preliminary preparation and upholding. 1. The first that should be remembered, is that any fresh water – from the crane, the well or a well is not suitable for small fishes. Tap water most often has a big share of impurity, including - a large amount of chlorine. Water from a well or the well – too rigid. 3. How it is necessary to settle water? Pour water for an aquarium in big capacity with a wide throat and cover from above with a gauze. Settle water during from several days to two weeks. Time of upholding depends on water quality in that region, where do you live. For this period the harmful impurity which are contained in water will decay or will evaporate. If you only got an aquarium, then for the first time water can be settled in it. And, except that you receive the settled water, you also make sure that the aquarium does not leak.
4. How to define that water settled enough? At first try to replace not all water in an aquarium at once but only one third. If small fishes after such replacement feel normally – try to replace water entirely. Observe small fishes. Some aquarians go on cunning and in the changed water at first start inexpensive small fishes. And only in case of their good health – let out the others.
5. And, at last, the last council how to define that water settles well: smell water of the functioning dwelling for small fishes. If it smells of pleasant freshness – everything normally. If a smell unpleasant – to mean something in an aquarium not so.
