Today the biggest bear in the world is Kodiak. Moreover, it is also the largest predator living on the land. Since 1941 Kodiak is under protection of the state. In a year it is allowed to shoot only 160 individuals.
GrizzlyThe grizzly bears living on Alaska and in Canada, as a rule, it is slightly less, than Kodiak, however and the real giants occur among them. The name of this look is translated from Latin as "a terrible bear", and some individuals quite justify it. The basis of a diet of a grizzly is formed by vegetable food, but about 10% prefer a meat diet. Living nearby otderevny, they can hunt cattle and sometimes people. This bear is not afraid of the person and furiously enters fight which to people not so just to leave live. However with the invention of weapon of people began to win over the terrible opponent. At the end of XIX – the beginning of the 20th century population of a grizzly was so reduced that they had to be taken under protection. Today these a bear which length was 4.3 meters.
