Need of creation of a local area network arises when you need to connect two or more computers for collaboration which consists in the general use of any peripheral devices and files. Creation of network of a such type does not require special knowledge, it is only enough to know bases of the PC device and it is good to be guided in OS.
Instruction
1. Connect your computers to a network hub by means of patchkord. For this purpose insert one end into the port of a hub, and another – into the network interface card. Do the same manipulations with other PCs. Having connected a hub with the socket, include it. Also It should be noted: if the distance between patchkorda exceeds 100 meters, data transmission will worsen or will become impossible.
2. Then check physical existence and correctness of connections. Come from each PC into "Network connections" and make sure that connection between devices is established. If everything is all right, you pass directly to setup. By default all settings are automatically determined, however you need to use a manual way. Select the IP address, then enter the parameters of a local area network. Leave a subnet mask in a standard view. Press the OK button. Similar actions are required to be carried out also for other computers, replacing only the last digit of the IP address according to tolerance range (from 1 to 255).
3. Find on a desktop a label "My computer". In properties of this object select the Computer name tab. Having specified the name PC, click "Change". The working group shall be called one name. For example, LOK. It is the best of all to select the considered names of a local area network, further it will accelerate search. Then reboot all computers. Assign the general access to them. There will be quite enough normal master of access for the beginning user, without privileges and restriction of the rights.
4. If you have a connected printer or the scanner, you are able to allow other users to use them. For this purpose the general access will be required. Nuance is availability of drivers for different versions of operating systems. It means that you should install drivers for all OS.
