In Windows OS the domains are used as one of ways of the organization of network interaction of narrow group of computers. Control of rules of interaction in group is exercised from one or several servers therefore a preliminary condition of connection to the domain of your computer is creation by the server administrator of the corresponding account.
Instruction
1. Open a component of the operating system with the name "System". It is the simplest to make it, having clicked the keyboard shortcut WIN + Pause. Except such way there are also others - for example, in Windows 7 and Windows Vista it is possible to open the main menu on the Start-up button, to right-click the line "Computer" and to select the Properties item in a context menu. And it is possible to right-click a label "My computer" on a desktop and to select the same Properties item.
2. Click "Change Parameters" in the section "Computer Name, Name of the Domain and Parameters of the Working Group" if you use Windows 7 or Windows Vista. For this operation it is required to have the rights of the administrator - type the admin password when the corresponding request appears. If you use Windows XP, then just go to the Computer name tab.
3. Click "Change" to open the following window of a dialog. In it there is a section which in Windows XP is called "Is a member", and in Windows 7 and Windows Vista - "Enters into Groups". Irrespective of the name, in all three OS it is necessary to give a mark at the inscription "Domain" and to enter a name of the domain to which the computer is connected.
4. Click "OK" and the system will ask to enter the user name and the password specified in the account of this domain. Print them and click OK.
5. On it the procedure of connection will be finished - in case of successful authorization in the domain the system will suggest to reboot that new installations became effective. If the login and the password entered by you do not appear in accounts of servers of the specified domain, then contact the administrator that he created new record or issued you already existing login and the password.
