1. Download Traffic Inspector. Activate the program and carry out its initial setup by means of a setup wizard. Add users to the program. After these actions it is possible to pass to further settings.
2. Let's determine necessary parameters of restrictions for users. Let's assume, we have an office on 40 employees. Office network is connected to the Internet with use of the 100-megabit channel. Users it is possible to divide into three groups: 5 managers, 10 employees of sales department and 25 employees of technical support. Let's assume, we want to set restrictions on speed: 30 Mbps for managers, 20 Mbps for sales department and 50 Mbps for technical support. Having defined the general scheme, we will pass to setup of the functionality.
3. For convenience of management of users it is the best of all to distribute on groups in the Traffic Inspector program. Groups can be watched and created through the Traffic Inspector node [] / Users and groups. In a frame ""The users and groups"" are the link ""Add Group"", having clicked which it is possible to start the master of creation of new group. To move accounts of users to group, it is necessary to select them and in a context menu to select the Change Group item. The started master will help with movement of accounts.
4. After groups are created and in them the necessary users are placed, we will come into property of the interesting group. For example, it will be the Managers group. On the Sheyper tab we find a frame of ""Restriction of joint speed for group"". We cock daws ""On reception" "/" "On transfer"" and two times we expose value 30720 (the field value is exposed in kilobits per second, the value of 30720 kbps will give us 30 Mbit / c). In two other groups (""Sales department"" and ""Technical support"") it is necessary to carry out the same settings, only to use parameters 20480 and 51200 respectively.
5. There can be a situation when most of users of group do not work in specific timepoint. In spite of the fact that the channel is not loaded, other users of this group will not be able to use this situation and the throughput of the channel will stand idle. Traffic Inspector allows to recalculate dynamically restriction for the user of group depending on the number of users of group active at the moment. As a result, if some part of users does not work at the moment, other users of group will be able temporarily to work with a little raised speed limit. To include this logic, it is necessary to cock a daw ""Dynamically to distribute between active users"" all on the same Sheyper tab in properties of group.
