According to some nutritionists, persimmon shouldn't be given to children up to 10 years as at children's age the allergy to persimmon most often takes place. At adults it happens less often, but is followed by a heavy current. Heat treatment does berry safer, but reduces vitamin structure significantly.

Causes of allergic reaction to persimmon

The person having an allergy, as a rule, is influenced by negative consequences of several allergens. The main value of persimmon is the abundance of carotinoids, so the allergy can be shown on all plants supporting them. This process arises mainly at children and old men. At the first category the immune system is still insufficiently developed, and at the second is in a fading stage. Allergic reaction can be shown on persimmon and at mature age on any of micro and macrocells which structure in a fruit is rather various. Without having obvious aroma, persimmon, as well as any vegetable product, extends flying aromatic substances, contains difficult proteinaceous connections. Also the chemicals which remained after washing of a fruit on a surface can cause allergies. They are applied today everywhere to provide long-term storage.
