Roses most often make multiple copies shanks. The complexity of this method is that shanks can either dry up, or decay. There is it from lack of nutrients or from the wrong watering. Landing of shank in potato solves these problems and provides almost absolute survival of shanks.
The tuber of potatoes is receptacle of spare nutrients which are used by young plant before it develops powerful root. The rose shank put in potato will receive from it necessary power supply.
Young tubers which have dug out recently because they contain the maximum set of substances, necessary for plants, will be suitable for landing better.
Preparation of shanks is begun at the beginning of May. Cut off part of green sprout of rose 15-20 cm long. Not to damage stalk, it is necessary to cut off it sharp secateurs.
Then shanks of 12 hours keep in potassium permanganate solution then for day leave in the stimulating solution. It is possible to use Kornevin who is on sale in shops for gardeners.
Before inserting shank into potatoes, it is necessary to make in tuber opening long sharp object, for example, the screw-driver.
Roses in potato can be planted to the open ground on the constant place. The site should be chosen as solar, protected from wind.
For landing of preparations dig out trench of 20-30 cm in depth. If it is going to plant single bushes, create separate holes.
On bottom fill sand which will interfere with contact of tuber with the earth that will save it from rotting.
Tubers with the shanks thrust in them place in trench at distance 15 cm from each other (or submerge in holes).
The trench is covered with earth, but not to the edges, and on 2/3, and stamped for improvement of contact of tuber with soil.
It is important to support constant soil moisture. It is necessary to water often, but small norms.
It is at first reasonable to cover shanks with plastic bottle with the cut-off bottom. The cover at bottle is unscrewed for air exchange creation access. In cloudy days of the shelter it is possible to remove.
In hot sunny weather it is necessary to shade landings.
Rooting of shanks will happen approximately in month, then it will be possible to remove bottles.
