Base durability directly depends on quality class of which it is made. To choose solution of due quality, it is necessary to pay attention to its characteristics. In regions with severe climate only frost-resistant concrete has to be used.

1. For the device of foundation of the house it is recommended to fill in concrete of certain brands: from M100 which durability is 7.5 MPas, to M700 with strength index in 50 MPas.
2. The base is built on different types of soil. This factor needs to be considered when choosing quality class. For example, for slabopuchinisty low-damp soils when filling the tape basis it is recommended to use concrete of M100 and M150 brands. Its characteristics allow loading to 130 kg/cm2. Therefore, on such base it is possible to build rather easy constructions: frame, from foam mortar, panel board, from sendvich-panels.
3. Concrete of M200 and M250 brands can be used for the bases which bearing capacity does not exceed 260 kg/cm2. Such solution is applied to filling of piles and columns under quite heavy low constructions: from bar, brick, the rounded log. Concrete of these brands can be used for the basis device on silnopuchinisty soil: damp clays and loams, at high UGV (level of underground water), on marshy soils.
4. For the bases from the monolithic plate or tape built on difficult types of soil (puchinisty, mobile, marshy) with bearing capacity of the basis not less than 393 kg/cm2, concrete of M300 and M400 brands is recommended to buy.
5. When choosing quality class it is necessary to pay attention to what at it there are digits and letters. Each of them has the value. For example, "M" – actually the brand; "In" designates concrete class; "F" – frost resistance indicator; "W" characterizes moisture-proofness; "П" – indicator of mobility of solution.
6. By means of special additives it is possible to affect moisture-proofness, plasticity (fluidity), frost resistance, durability and heat conductivity of concrete. For example, by means of Penetron-Admix additive it is possible to increase considerably resistance of the base to moisture influence. The special additives in concrete made on the basis of sulfates have similar property. These structures can be bought in any shop of building materials.
7. The plasticity of solution can be improved, having added to it a little inexpensive laundry detergent. This property of concrete is especially important when filling top layer of the basis as its high-quality alignment is required.
8. At independent production of concrete it is extremely important to buy quality cement. It is necessary to know that in 3 months after the production, even in the conditions of due storage, cement as binding loses up to 10% of the properties. Therefore it is always necessary to be interested in issue date of this material.
