Perception social is the process of relationship of the person with the person based on natural communication, perception and understanding. Perception has the functions allowing to understand better its essence.
Perception
Perception and assessment of the identity of the interlocutor – the main component of process of perception. Perceiving characteristics of the person, estimating phenomena of social perception, such as - appearance of the interlocutor, his behavior and manners, the observer draws for himself some conclusions about psychological properties of this personality. This assessment forms a certain attitude towards this person.
The term "social perception" was entered by Brunner Jerome Seymour in 1947. Initially the essence of the term of social perception came down to social determination of perceptual processes. A bit later, scientific researchers characterized a concept of perception social as process of perception of others people and big social groups. In such interpretation this term remained in social and psychological literature. From this follows - perception of the person has indirect relation to area of social perception, but does not reveal her up to the end.
Functions of perception social
The main functions of social perception are a knowledge of, the interlocutor, the joint activity based on sympathy of people to each other, installation of the emotional relations. If to collect all components of process of perception social, then quite difficult and "twisting" scheme will turn out. It includes various options not only an object, but also the subject of perception. In other words, perception of the person by the person are an indispensable condition of communication and conditionally has the name – the perceptual party of communication. But if in case not the individual, but group acts as the subject of perception, then it is necessary to add perception by this group of the own representative, perception by group of the member of other group to the available list of processes of social perception; perception by group, and, perception by group in general other group
Knowledge mechanisms
Treat mechanisms of knowledge - empathy, identification and attraction. The empathy is an emotional empathy of other personality. An empathy essence – the correct definition of internal state of the person. Identification is the technique of knowledge of another based on attempt to put itself to the place of another. That is to assimilate itself to another. Attraction is considered as an individual form of knowledge of other person on formation of positive feeling to it. Here understanding of the interlocutor happens in process of emergence of affection for him, friendly or deeper relation.
