People daily are affected by various chemicals. It occurs because artificial connections are used not only at the enterprises now, but also in everyday life. Chemicals also often are ingredients of household cleaners. When they get to the environment, there is a pollution.
Pollution of soils
Rapid development of technologies, agriculture led to growth of level of chemical pollution of the soil. There is a set of chemicals which are used at cultivation of crops. They get into the soil. According to the International committee on environment protection, phosphates, herbicides, nitrates, bacteria and pesticides are the most widespread pollutants which are applied in this industry. Food can be also polluted by them.
Water pollution
Pollution of water can be a consequence of various reasons. It is often connected with pollution of soil because of a large amount of chemicals which process fields. One more source of pollution of water are oil spills and emissions of water vehicles, such as boats and water bikes. Plants and fishes can suffer from the shortage of oxygen in water and food as a result of emergence of a fat film on a reservoir surface. Catch of fish is the main source of income for many countries, and chemical pollution can threaten existence of this branch of economy. In certain cases eating of the polluted fish can do irreparable harm to people, causing both various diseases of skin, and organism poisoning in general.
Air pollution
Air pollution is, perhaps, the most often found type of chemical pollution. The international organizations for environment protection discuss various ways of possible protection against it. Air quality continuously worsens because of work of thousands of enterprises worldwide. Cars and planes also create emissions which can pollute air. During the operation of the internal combustion engine carbon dioxide as the majority of models of transport use oil as fuel is emitted. Though plants and other living beings also produce carbon dioxide, amount of the gas emitted by them it is much less, in comparison with technogenic pollution. At the same time far smaller harm is done to the atmosphere. In article from the National Geographic magazine it is noted that eruptions of volcanoes and gases which are thrown out of swamps also promote air pollution. Air pollution consequences also affect deterioration in the general human health and can cause various diseases as professional, and in the ordinary civilians living near a pollution source.
Ways of cleaning of pollution
Cleaning of environmental pollution can take a lot of time. Also it is quite difficult and expensive. The choice of a way and the technical means used in process depend on type of chemical and on the size of the affected territory.
Prevention
Prevention is the best way of protection against chemical pollution. Society on environment protection actively cooperates with the enterprises to help to reduce emissions of gases and to utilize dangerous chemicals. Also the international agreements at the level of the governments which oblige authorities to monitor respect for norms on protection of an ecosystem are concluded.
