Let it is required to balance reaction of compound of hydrogen and oxygen as a result of which water will turn out. Before molecules of hydrogen, oxygen and water to put Latin letters (x, y, z) - coefficients.
2. For each element on the basis of material balance to work out the mathematical equations and to receive the system of the equations. In the specified example for hydrogen to take the 2nd as it has a 2 index, at the left on the right - 2z, it has an index ""2"" too, x=z turns out 2x=2z, from here. For oxygen to take 2y as there is a 2 index, at the left on the right - z, there is no index, it means it is equal to unit which can be not written. It turns out, 2y=z, and z=0.5y.
