Phonemes in Russian call artificially isolated sound units of a word. Very often school students are offered to make phonetic analysis of a word, expression or even the text, but only the few know the correct order of the traditional sound-alphabetic analysis.
Instruction
1. On a separate line write the word which is exposed to phonetic analysis.
2. Through a dash write the same word, having divided it a hyphen into syllables. On the same line, in brackets, it is possible to specify the turned-out quantity of syllables. Example: Blacken — blacken (3 syllables)
3. Under a word write to a column all components it a letter.
4. To each letter there corresponds the phoneme or, simply speaking, a sound. Opposite to each written-down letter write a sound which this letter at pronunciation gives in square brackets. Example: h [h]
5. Opposite to transcriptions of each sound put down a dash and write detailed characteristics of each phoneme. Example: e [e] — public, bezudarnyyp [o] — concordant, soft, pair on softness, deaf, pair on dullness
6. Count exact quantity of letters and sounds in a word. Having marked off the line, write the turned-out numbers.
