1. The hectare is in unit measurements in the metric system. The term is received from Latin by reduction. The hectare is the main metric unit of measure of the earth which is often used in practice.
2. The hectare is widely used around the world as metric and legal unit of measure in the areas concerning land property, planning, and management, including including agriculture, forestry and town planning and also planning and sale of land, in general land use.
3. In many countries the introduction of the new metric system in the form of hectare meant that national units of measure were or are reconsidered or explained in terms of new metric units. The following units of measure were reconsidered in relation to one hectare: 1 hectares = 10000 m² = the 100th are = 100 hundred parts = 0.01 km².
