1. Pregnancy at cats lasts 9 weeks (65 days). During this period it is necessary to diversify a diet of your favourite as much as possible. The cat has to receive as much as possible calories, vitamins and mineral substances.
2. In the first 2 weeks of pregnancy at cats the appetite increases and weight increases. If you noticed similar changes in the alumna, increase the amount of food consumed by her by 10%. And it is necessary to increase not portions, but the number of meals. During this period it is necessary to feed an animal not less than 4 times a day.
3. From third week of pregnancy the feeding of a cat is increased by 50%. However the animal should not overeat at all. I go better to give out in the small portions, about 5-6 times a day.
4. On the 7th week of pregnancy of a cat begin to eat a little. It happens because of pressure of the abdominal cavity overflowed with kittens upon a stomach. During this period the quantity of food for your favourite needs to be reduced as much as possible, and here the number of feedings, on the contrary, to increase.
5. Some days before childbirth the cat can refuse food completely. Do not worry – the animal just prepares for the forthcoming event. Surround your pussycat with care and caress and also provide her a comfortable corner for removal of posterity.
6. In a diet of a pregnant cat the following products have to prevail: meat (beef, chicken, a turkey), an egg yolk, vegetables (carrots, cabbage, squash), dairy products (kefir, cottage cheese, curdled milk, yogurt without additives), cereals and grain (wheat, rice, buckwheat). Sometimes it is possible to give to the cat boiled fish of low-fat grades. However you should not abuse this product. Fish contains the enzyme destroying vitamin B which takes active part in development of a fruit.
7. If you prefer to treat the animal to ready-made feeds, choose in pet-shop a special forage for pregnant cats. It contains a large amount of nutrients which are necessary for the correct development of a fruit.
8. If your cat got used to eat natural food, then all necessary vitamins for it can be bought separately in pet-shop. Usually they are presented in the form of tablets, but if desired it is possible to find the special vitaminized pastes.
9. To strengthen a milk lactation at a cat in the second semester of pregnancy, crumble it in food small cut nettle leaves, previously having drenched them with boiled water.
10. That childbirth at a cat took place without complications, it is possible to give to drink to her broth from raspberry leaves. You will need 1 spoon of leaves on 1 glass of water. Weld leaves, cool the received broth and filter it through a gauze. Then give to an animal on 1 teaspoon throughout all pregnancy.
