For creation in a terrarium of a favorable microclimate it is also possible to spread out on its bottom several damp sponges.
10. Before putting a reptile in a terrarium, equip it. Fill a thick layer of the friable earth mixed with sand on its bottom. Lizards just adore being dug in in soil. Put a thick branch in a terrarium. On it your pet will walk with pleasure further. Place several big pebbles in a terrarium. They will serve to a small lizard as the shelter.
11. Of course, the first question which arises at the owner of a terrarium is with what to feed the caught lizard. Treat your pet with bugs, grasshoppers, caterpillars, spiders, earthworms three times a day in the summer and two times — in the winter. The sand lizard has to receive live food without fail. If to give it only dead insects, she can die. Live crickets and cockroaches will be simple to be found, for example, in pet-shop, and earthworms — in fishing.
12. From time to time the sand lizard is allowed to feed also pieces of crude meat and egg.
