Ragdoll – the breed of domestic cats which appeared thanks to efforts of the famous American manufacturer Ann Baker. It contains in itself lines of the Burmese, Persian and Angora types, but, unlike all other cats, is characterized by exclusive complaisance.

Ragdoll (English Ragdoll is a rag doll) – the breed of semi-long-haired cats removed in the sixties the last century in the USA. Ragdolls received the unusual name because of a gene mutation as a result of which their muscular tone is lowered. Thereof they are extremely flexible and soft to the touch, but it is necessary to handle with them with care: unlike other cats, they are not capable to land of paws, and even falling from a sofa is fraught for them with serious injuries. Because of the physical features the ragdolls never are aggressive, opposite – owners on whom they completely depend, are for them the center of the universe, and it is hardly possible to find more appeasable and devoted cats somewhere.
Ragdolls demand permanent care, but at the same time are not whimsical and very phlegmatic. They well get on with other animals and at manifestation of aggression just go to the address and do not get involved in a fight.Representatives of this breed prefer to communicate with people. They have high intelligence, are quickly accustomed to a tray and perfectly understand the human speech.
How to choose the real ragdoll
When choosing kittens of breed a ragdoll it is extremely important to remember that all of them are born absolutely white, and the true color of a cat will be shown only at two-year age. At newborns the eyes open only in two weeks, the podsosny period also lasts long enough, and you should not take away kids from cats prematurely. Very often for the representative of ragdolls give their close relative – the Burmese cat. The reason for that – a similar color with dark marks. Meanwhile, the standard of a ragdoll is quite strict: its distinctive features along with peaceful character are saturated blue widely put eyes, a wedge-shaped muzzle with chubby cheeks and an average chin, the rounded-off ears (sometimes with brushes), a long well-muscled body with the long slightly pointed tail. Despite some korenastost and muscularity, a muscular tone at these cats always lowered. By and large, to distinguish the real ragdoll, it is rather simple to take him on hands. Options of colors exists only three: a color point (standard), mitted (with white "socks", a chin and breast) and bicolor (bichromatic). Each of colors can be one of four versions: "сио", blue, lilac or chocolate.
