Mollineziya are aquarium fishes of family petsiliyevy. In the wild nature the different types of a mollineziya live in reservoirs of Mexico, Colombia, America, Mexico. Males and females of a mollineziya are distinguished in a shape of an anal fin. Females have more round shape of a trunk and are viviparous, i.e. do not throw caviar, and give birth to live whitebaits.

1. Males differ from females in a form, size and the structure of fins.
2. Males usually less females also reach only 8 cm in length whereas females are up to 12 cm.
3. Males have more extended body, unlike a roundish body the self-check.
4. Males of a mollineziya are distinguished by existence of an anal fin of a tubular form - a gonopodiya. This fin is body of reproduction and is located under a paunch of a small fish.
5. It is considered that mollineziya are rather whimsical in contents. They demand considerable volumes of an aquarium (not less than 6 l on couple of adult individuals), water pure, transparent, rich with oxygen with weekly substitution.
6. For a possibility of reproduction it is necessary to provide in an aquarium many open sites and also a set of thickets, snags for the shelter. Besides, mollineziya are thermophilic (water temperature of the 25-30th C). It is necessary to add sea or table salt to fresh water (2-3 g on liter).
7. The aquarium for mollineziya has to be well lit the majority of time of day. It is also necessary also solar natural light.
8. Mollineziya all eat, their forage can be live, vegetable or dry. Availability of various vegetable additives is obligatory. There live these small fishes up to 5 years therefore they are advised to part even to the most inexperienced aquarians.
9. Females of a mollineziya are viviparous, i.e. do not throw caviar, and give birth to live whitebaits. Puberty comes in 1 year. Females and males can contain in one aquarium until the female becomes pregnant.
10. Then it is necessary to move away a male from an aquarium that it did not irritate a female. In 35-45 days the female will be able to bring the first issue. For the first time at a female about 30 whitebaits can be born. Childbirth can last several hours.
11. After the birth of whitebaits some females look roundish because contain the impregnated ova which turn then into new whitebaits in a womb. So, in a month it will be able to give rise still to party of small mollineziya again. The female can give birth 5-6 times. Then she should be placed to a male again.
