Collars are applied only as identification means to a cat which owners let out on the street. To walk her, the special breast-band will be required.

1. Choose for a cat a collar – with a label for the owner's phone/address - antiflea or antitick-borne. It is necessary to put on it before it goes to walk. Even if the cat will be lost, then she will not be taken away in detention center for vagrant animals and not be taken home without call to the owner. And, besides, she will get rid for parasites. If she does not go outside, it is possible to buy a collar just for appearance. Material and design can be any, depending on your preferences and a condition of wool and an integument of a cat.
2. Accustom a cat to a collar gradually. It is the best of all to begin when she still absolutely small. Buy a special collar for kittens or ordinary, and then truncate it a little. Try to put on it at the time when you feed a cat, or you play with her. It for a while will distract attention of your pet from a collar: he will be busy with food or a game. Put on him daily, increasing time of its carrying until the cat does not get used to it.
3. Before buttoning a collar, check whether it smothers an animal, whether wool under it will be felted, whether the underfur will be damaged. Consider that cats always wish to jump, polazat on trees, fences, roofs. Therefore put on a collar so that it could always take out freely the head from it if it suddenly for something is hooked.
4. If you are going to walk a cat, buy a breast-band. The collar for this purpose will not approach as neck muscle at such animals too weak and will not sustain loading. Determine the suitable size of a breast-band: between thongs and a body of a cat two fingers have to be located freely. Accustom an animal to a breast-band also gradually.
5. Put on the closed ring a neck of a cat. Develop the crossing point connecting it and a thong so that it came to be on a throat (the carbine has to be on withers). Expand space between the closed ring, moving a thong. Push the right front pad in this space (the crossing point will appear on a breast of a cat, and the pad will be recorded by a breast-band). Take the free end of a thong and bring it to an armpit of the left front pad.
6. Clasp a thong. Put in order a ring around a neck so that it also did not press to a cat on a throat, and fitted it at the same time tightly, without allowing it to be turned out or to escape. Make sure that the crossing point is exactly located in the middle of a breast, and the right pad is reliably recorded. Tighten a thong more tightly. Do not worry: you will not hurt a cat, but she will definitely not run away then, having felt that the breast-band weakened.
