Owners of dogs know that from time to time the animal needs bathing. It is on average recommended to bathe a dog at least once in one or two months. Besides, it is desirable to wash after each walk or at least to wipe the pet's paws. Water for washing of paws has to be warm, but is not hotter and after paws are washed up, it is necessary to drain them carefully a towel silt soft fabric.

  • It is the most difficult to wash a dog with long wool. If the long-haired dog has koltuna, they need to be untangled or cut off even before bathing. Water for bathing should not be too cold or as hot – it is better to choose the comfortable water temperature by only several degrees exceeding the body temperature of a dog. On a bottom of a bathtub it is necessary to put a rag or a rubber rug that the animal did not slip and did not fall.
  • Before bathing the ears of a dog should be closed cotton tampons with oil impregnation. Not to do harm to an animal during bathing, apply only special zooshampoo: it has to correspond to type of wool of your dog. Little puppies and very old dogs are washed with special lotions, and dogs who are afraid of water are washed with dry shampoos.
  • It is not necessary to apply antiparasitic shampoos to bathing of the dogs who are not infected with fleas and other parasites. Insecticides which are a part of shampoo at frequent application can cause irritation of skin. For dogs of some breeds the drawing after balm conditioner bathing is recommended.  
  • Carefully washed up dog needs to be dried - the hair dryer or a towel. Remember that it is the best of all to make bathing of dogs in the evening after the dog returned from evening walk. If you plan to bathe a dog in the afternoon, consider that it will be possible to walk her not earlier, than in three-four hours after the end of water procedures. It is not recommended to bathe too often dogs of such breeds as terriers, likes, schnauzers and spitz-dogs. Too frequent bathing negatively affects structure of hair of dog. If bathings nevertheless not to avoid, try to choose the shampoo developed directly for wool of this kind, as at a dog of this breed.
