Hamsters in most cases sincerely hate water. Besides, it is impossible to wash them often. Nevertheless, if the hair of your pet became too dirty, not to do without water procedures.
Instruction
1. Take special cats or rabbits shampoo. It is strictly forbidden to wash hamsters with shower gel or soap – such means make negative impact on wool and leather. As a last resort it is possible to use children's shampoo.
2. Put the pet on a plain surface and accurately pour from a bucket so that water did not get into ears, a nose or into eyes. Take a little shampoo and carefully, but carefully wash out a hair of a rodent. Pay attention: it is possible to wash a hamster only with hands, without using for this purpose any brushes, sponges, basts and other devices.
3. Do not let go a hamster and constantly tenderly talk to him. You tell anything, the main thing that intonations were tender and calming. If it is difficult for you to wash a hamster, without letting go him at the same time for a minute, then ask somebody to help you.
4. Having washed out rodent hair, rinse it with warm water. It is necessary to wash away shampoo very carefully: if it remains on skin, then at a hamster the severe itch can begin. Wash out wool of the pet until make sure that there is no shampoo left on skin of a rodent. And after that rinse the pet still few times – just in case.
5. Carefully wipe a hamster, and then wrap him in a soft towel. Taking out an animal from the bathroom, track that in the house there were no drafts. If after bathing the hamster appears in the cold room, then he can catch a cold.
6. Try to dry up an animal by means of the hair dryer. Be careful: not all rodents like such noisy devices. If your pet reacts to the hair dryer normally, then it will be easy to dry up it. If is not present – allow a hamster to dry in the natural way.
7. Do not leave the pet after bathing of one at least within 10-15 minutes. You hold a hamster in hand, having turned in a towel, tenderly talk to him. Release the favourite only when make sure that he finally was warmed and calmed down.
